How the "Happy" Program Works
|
|
1. The program has been developed as a "Community Service" health project of Rotary International, and will operate under the Rotary umbrella. "Happy" was originated in District 6360 (Southwest Michigan) of Rotary International.
2. The "Happy" program is offered as a club project to Rotary clubs. The program is presented to the club membership by a district officer. Individual members of the club sign up to participate, and also will serve as team leaders. The clubs "Community Service" chairman serves as chairman of the project.
3. Each member (team leader) signs up the members of his team (non-Rotarians), in any number, but not to exceed ten per team. Registrations of the "Happy" members are then forwarded to the "Happy" office.
4. A "web-site" page is originated for the new member. His individual page and the information on it then becomes part of his team, and his club.
5. OPERATION: The member will receive an e-mail(newsletter) each week to encourage activity, helpful information, etc. about the "Happy" program. He will then link to his own page and enter his "Happy" points he has earned that week. The member is now receiving his current status of his "Activity Level", his goal, his progress towards that goal for three different periods of time - last week, last month and year to date. He also has the option to review his teams progress and his clubs position.
6. Registration Fee: There is a one time registration fee of $10, to cover initial entry of information and installing a member web page. There is no additional cost for the program.
7. The "Happy" program will offer incentives, awards, competition and other activities to encourage the member to maintain and improve his activity level.
